AUDITIONSFOR

GRATIOT COUNTY PLAYERS’

PRODUCTION OF

1776

Winner of five Tony awards, including best musical and best book, 1776 is a sparkling re-creation of the momentous days from May 8 to July 4 in Philadelphia, when the second Continental Congress argued about, voted on, and signed the Declaration of Independence.  It is a musical drama of mounting tension and triumph never before seen on the Gratiot County Players’ stage.

With varied and colorful lyrics adding to the emotional depth, 1776 will spark the imagination and inspire awe – both for the Declaration of Independence and for the men who wrestled it to life.

The cast consists of 24 men and 2 women.  Prior to the audition dates we will be offering a music workshop to help familiarize people with the music. The workshop is not required but highly recommended.  The workshop date is  Sunday, Jan. 31st at 2:00pm (at Alma United Methodist Church on Gratiot).
