Director
The work of the director is central to the production of a play. The director has the challenging task of bringing together the many complex pieces of a production—the script, actors, set, costuming, lighting and sound and music—into a unified whole. They must analyze the script, cast the show, determine basic requirements of the set, and meet with their production team to bring the show to life.

Producer
The producer has many tasks throughout the show: coordinating the various production departments, assisting the director in forming a production team, financial accounting of the show's expenses, production program (cast bios, production staff bios, cast/staff list, scene breakdown, next production's audition information), lobby display, organize cast parties, show shirts, organize theatre cleaning, assist with auditions, and arrange the Masonic Home special performance. 

Stage Manager

Provides practical and organizational support to the director, actors, designers, stage crew, and technicians throughout the production process. The stage manager works out a smooth and efficient plan for the stage crew to follow during set changes. Once the show opens, it's the stage manager's job to make sure that every aspect of the production runs just as the director intended time after time, until the production closes.


Building Facilities Manager
Management of routine, preventative, emergency and planned maintenance of the Theatre and Annex equipment so as to ensure safe, cost-effective performance.

Angel Sponsorship Director
Responsible for finding people to donate money on behalf of the Gratiot County Players. Putting the list of Sponsors together and keeping it updated throughout the season. 

Head Usher
The Head Usher is responsible for scheduling the ushers for all performances.  Duties also include the opening up of the auditorium and communicating with the sound table when the lobby is clear enough to give the two minute warning. Ushers ensure the comfort and safety of the public at all times during the theatre performances. Welcoming patrons to the theatre and directing them to their seats.

 

House Manager
The House Manager handles all aspects of the show relating to the audience.  The house manager is responsible for ensuring that the audience has a safe, relaxed and pleasant experience.

 

Head of the Performance Lighting Department
The Head of Lighting shall function as the department head of the performance lighting department. Performance lighting is defined as all stage lighting used for productions, as well special scenery lighting, as it is related to productions for GCP and any outreach productions or special events held at the Strand Theater. 

Head of Sound Department
Oversees all theatre sound equipment.  The job includes checking that all the equipment is working correctly and instructing new sound operators on the use of the sound equipment.

Play Selection Committee Chairperson
Oversees the logistics of the play selection committee's operations. The Play Selection Committee selects the plays that GCP produces on the main stage each season (subject to approval by the GCP Board). 

Box Office Chair
Oversees the box office which includes establishing box office hours, staffing the box office, and training new workers.
Volunteer Coordinator:  Communicates with potential new volunteers to obtain information of their volunteer theater interests, talents, and expectations. Organizes and maintains a master roster of volunteers with their contact information that can be shared with appropriate theater leaders. 

Workshop Chairman
Maintains the annex building and all that is stored there.  Keeps inventory of all set pieces and building materials stored in the annex.  

Publicity Chairperson
The Chairperson is responsible for and/or oversees publicity, public relations and advertising for the GCP season. Utilizes Facebook, Tumbler, Twitter, Instagram and other social media platforms to activate the online community and develop new audiences. 

 

Advertisement Booklet Chairperson 
Develops program advertisement sponsorships and partnerships.

 

Program/Poster Designer
Works with the directors to design the show poster and program covers.  Works with the producers to construct and design the show programs.

 

Prop Room Manager
Maintains the prop rooms and keeps the prop list updated after every show.  Present for each show’s strike to ensure props are put away properly.

 

Display Window Designer 
Designs and constructs the display window at the front of the theatre. 

Web Master
Maintains and updates the GCP website.

Head of Photography  
Takes photos and all headshots for each production.

Newsletter Editor  
Coordinates the publishing and E-mailing of the newsletter.


Costume Room Manager
Supervises and directs the Costume room.  Collaborates and creatively solves problems with costumers. Works with directors and designers to help find costumes.
